What is ABCs of Caring Choices?

ABCs of Caring Choices is a highly-interactive workshop provided by our non-profit, Local Choices for Global Harmony, to children in Grades 1-4 to teach them how to make caring choices. While children typically learn the importance of character traits from a parent at home or from their teacher in a classroom, many of the choices that a child makes i.e. playing with other children are made away from their learning environment. For that reason, this program provides a simple way for children to remember how to make good choices.

Why is Making Good Choices so Important?   While good character traits are important for children to learn, traits like kindness, fairness, etc are of value only if they are demonstrated externally when a choice is being made.  Since 95% of our choices are made unconsciously, this program provides a way for children to be more consciously aware of when they are making a choice.  Then, it introduces a way to make 'balanced' choices that are considerate of all affected by a child's choice.

How Can Children Learn These Steps So Easily?   In our highly interactive workshops, children learn a simple, logical, and universal way to make choices that they can use throughout their entire life.  Also, the core concepts are taught with pictures and linked to visible, tangible items that we use everyday.

What's Unique about 'ABCs of Conscious, Caring Choices'? . Harvard studies prove that children recall wisdom eight times faster if they can see it vs recall it from memory. For this reason, each child receives a 'caring compass' to keep with them all the time as a 'touchstone' that visually reminds him of the steps taught.  . The core components of it are based on a combination of the findings of a Nobel Peace Prize winner, Harvard studies, brain-compatible learning techniques, and universal truths i.e. the Golden Rule; then simplified so that every child can use it. . Parents and teachers can easily incorporate these steps into their instructions to their children or students.

What are the Objectives of this Program? . The short-term objective is to increase respect for one another and reduce the hurt or harm caused to others when self-based choices are made i.e. rudeness, bullying, by replacing them with 'conscious, caring' choices. . The long-term objective is to teach children a lifelong habit of both responsibility for oneself and also to others affected by his/her choice

True Colors Program is Now Available Also available now is the option to teach children about the four personality colors using the True-Colors program. As a certified True Colors facilitator, Anita uses this easy-to-understand method to 'set the stage'. Using the True Colors program helps children learn what the color of their personality is and also appreciate the colors (personalities) of others that they live with, play with, or go to school with.
