"A Miracle in America" campaign: Five Ways to Be an Empowered Citizen and Work Together to Turn Our Economy Around!
Now there is an easy way that you can get involved with our elected officials and work together to make our country’s economy get back on track and rebuild our trust in our political system and, when worthy of it, applicable businesses.
If your job and personal commitments keep you ‘busier than a one-legged man in a kicking contest’; yet, you want to learn how to be a one-hour activist, join us next Monday to learn how, together, we can demonstrate how Margaret Mead said changes (improvements) are made: "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change ‘the' world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever does.”
Given the $10 trillion debt and the devastating impact of the collective choices made that have caused the decline in our home values and retirement accounts, millions of jobs lost, I’ll introduce a way that we can partner with President Obama and our politicians to help clean up the mess that we are coping with now so it isn’t passed on to future generations and work to reinstill transparency, accountability, and trust in our leaders.
As we all know, many sources in the media e.g. radio talk hosts entertain us with lots of criticism instead of using their time on the air to guide us to unite and start solving the problem – to the degree that each of us can. Does this leave you feeling frustrated? I feel frustrated because there is not a way to start this united effort.
As a citizen who has served as an elected official who feels frustrated with our current economy, I am launching A Miracle in America: Five Ways to Be an Empowered Citizen and Work Together to Turn Our Economy Around! campaign which can be accomplished only if we work together as a “T.E.A.M”, Together Everyone Achieves More. To learn more about it, please join us next Monday night when I’ll share how you can learn to:
- Select an issue to get involved with and be a hopeful citizen vs one who feels hopeless.
- Form or participate in a discussion group in your geographical area or online in your area of interest.
- Write your elected officials in a manner to partner with them to resolve a problem or issue.
- Get involved with non-governmental goodwill organizations and other options to be an ‘active’ citizen.
We’ll discuss how switching from saying the country when referring to the USA to our country is the starting point. We’ll also learn how to start discussions like “How can we solve this?” instead of just listen to criticism of past events.
