Learn how to move from ‘Inactive’ past ‘Reactive’ to a ‘Proactive’ Citizen and make ‘our’ - versus ‘the’- country more of and by the people so it steadily becomes more and more for the people.

Although we cannot see the future, we are all aware of the massive debt and other societal and environmental problems that future generations will inherit from us IF we don’t start making better choices now. With our country’s economy in such a critical condition and because I have held an elected political position and seen many surprising elements of local government, I believe that our country’s government will never be for the people before it is more and more by and of the people. Thus, I hope you agree with the need to become more active now.

Every day, we hear reporters, journalists, and radio talk hosts analyzing the current events, yet, have you ever wondered what actions can actually be done/taken to affect change? As witnessed by the efforts of millions of volunteers in the presidential campaign, getting involved helps goals get accomplished.

In this Teleclass, you will learn how you can elevate your level of citizenship to an active level to illustrate what John F Kennedy suggested: “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.” and, uniting with others, can illustrate what Margaret Mead said : "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever does.”

Join me in as we discuss how active citizens can get involved to actually partner with our elected politicians and help affect which policies and laws should be changed. From a team effort of mine and other speakers in this class, you will learn how to:

Select a cause or issue to be involved with to be a hopeful citizen vs feeling hopeless.
Form a discussion group in your geographical area or online in your area of interest.
Write your elected officials and partner with them to help turn our country’s crisis around.
Get involved with non-governmental goodwill organizations.

Join us to learn to make a difference in your community and your area of interest and be an proactive citizen vs an inactive or reactive one. All participants will receive a resource of media, governmental, and activist groups. There will be two guest speakers and I will welcome ideas and suggestions that will increase the value of this class to all participants in this Teleclass and all future ones.
